Jon Gorospe

Jon Gorospe (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, 1986) works on the representation of the anthropised landscape. As one of the authors of the new wave of European photography, he has been recognised by several public and private institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum (USA and Spain), Sasakawa Foundation (Scandinavia and Japan), Futures Photography (European Culture Programme) and the Ankaria Foundation (Spain).

His work focuses on the representation of the anthropized landscape and the new approaches to the idea of contemporary landscape. He has developed different bodies of work such as The Spot (2018-2022), Polished Cities (2018-in progress), City Drifters (2019), Noraezean (2020), Metropolis (2018-2019), or Environments (2014-1016).

Jon combines his artistic creation processes with the study and understanding of the image from a theoretical point of view, collaborating on different projects as a photo-editor, curating festivals and exhibitions, and participating in debates and publications.
