Jamie Baldridge

The works of Jamie Baldridge (Louisiana, USA, 1975) oscillate between topics as diverse as issues of gender, couple`s relationships, individual identity, and present politics, which he treats with a classical visual style -that is at odds with the latest 3D technology that he employs- and a tremendously cutting sense of humour. His photographs contain something ancient and atavistic, something indefinable yet there, awakening our unconscious. Heroines in impossible games, super heroes on secret missions… a world parallel to our own, a leap into the void. Undoubtedly, one must have a certain amount of courage to play this game… and “it would be nice if they got a little bruised along the way”, as Jamie himself assures.
